University Students' Viewpoints: A Coping Mechanism amid the Covid-19 Pandemic

The crisis we encounter in the global community is paramount to all species of social interaction. COVID-19, previously known as 2019 nCoV has devastated our day-to-day lives from financial capability emotional condition. According Rubin and Wessely (2020), widespread contagion will inevitably have a psychological effect. This study aims explore different coping mechanisms among university students with current crisis, determine significant difference gender preferences, identify what extent been able cope. Data was collected through researcher-made survey questionnaire an instrument adapted Carver (1997). administered students. Students who responded gave their consent were included study. Based on results, top five strategies that use per experience are “listening music”, “sleeping”, “social media”, “movie/Netflix”, “online games”. However, it also notable none believed using “prohibited drugs” or “substance use” option this pandemic. Moreover, there no preferences which implies regardless your preference, orientation, identity, want deal problems, hardships, stresses life. Hence, diverting one’s attention other things somehow students’ best way coping, armoured positivity faith.
